The interview was going extremely well and it appeared that the family would like to come. We, meaning the perspective family as well as my husband, Mark, our son, Gabriel, and myself were all in the backyard talking. My husband decides to take Gabriel inside and returned after a few minutes shutting the door behind him with Gabriel latched to his hip.

After Mark announces that he's going to give Gabriel a bath I hear, "it's locked!" I tried to maintain a sense of composure and professionalism since the perspective family was still here, "What, what do you mean it's locked?" I announced.

We had no other means of getting in the house; short of breaking a window it was like a fortress. Thank God the family was extremely easy going and didn't get upset. I borrowed their cell phone and asked my in-laws if they could bring their copy of our house key so we could get inside.

Twenty-five minutes later or so, we were in our house! Prior to us getting locked out, we had agreed that the family would let us know on Friday whether or not they wanted to come. Well, i'll keep you posted....Friday is just two days away!

Your Turn: The Price of Motherhood

I have been intrigued about this whole blogging thing for quite awhile. My inspiration has come from another blogger you may be familiar with, Danielle Bean. If not, be sure to check her out at, www.daniellebean.com. She's a Catholic wife, mother, and homeschooler of 8 children!

There was an article in the newspaper on Mother's Day that talked about the salary of a stay-at-home mom.

“Thank Your Mom. She’s Worth $138,095.

Mom deserves more than a card today; she deserves a big paycheck. And by “big,” we mean six figures. Salary.com, after surveying 40,000 mothers, concluded that the time that stay-at-home moms spend performing their 10 most typical job functions would equate to an annual salary of $138, kk095 in the “real world.” (the figure for mothers who work outside home is $85,939, which is in addition to their normal salary).”

Now, my only questions is...do we get back pay for all the times we should have received a paycheck?

Are you/have you ever been a stay-at-home Mom? What were/are your fondest memories or challenges?

Maybe you worked or are working outside the home and raising a family at the same time. What were/are your fondest memories or challenges?
